Taken from the causeway leading out to Antelope Island. The mountains above Salt Lake City are on the left, the island on the right. A perfectly still lake in between. Paired with an absolutely cloudless sky, this is one of my favorite captures ever.
Humphrey's Peak near Flagstaff, Arizona, taken from Highway 180 north of the mountain in November 2010.
This is down at the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, taken April 2014. A 16-mile hike round trip, made more than worth it by the amazing view.
This is a classic one from my Des Moines days. From the bottom of Saylorville Lake, looking off the dam toward DSM's skyline in the distance. Amazing.
This was taken in the early stages of the Humphrey's Peak trail north of Flagstaff. Even when rainy, it is a beautiful hike through the woods (at least until you get to the tree line).
Taken from across Lake Monona in January 2010. A great capture of the Madison skyline including the capitol building.
This is the reflection of the Principal Building in downtown Des Moines off of the DSM Public Library, which itself is quite an art form, utilizing lots of modern design and copper. I love this shot.
Taken as the sun is peering over the mountains just east of Lake Tahoe, this gigantic lake is an amazing sight.
Taken near Mount Rainier, this mountain shot is perfectly framed in between some tall pine trees.
Taken from inside the Chihuly Gardens and Glass building, the Space Needle stands tall.
Taken while driving down Ruby Road between Arivaca, AZ, and Nogales, this picture nicely sums up why southern Arizona is so amazing and beautiful. There is always a mountain in the distance, grasslands all around them, and deep blue skies above them.
